INSL-X Block Out Acrylic Exterior Wood Stain Blocking Primer, 1 Gallon

This acrylic latex stain blocking primer is designed for wood, masonry, and previously painted surfaces. It primes and seals new cedar and redwood, drying dust-free in just 30 minutes. This water-thinned primer boasts excellent stain-blocking capabilities, blister and peel resistance, and high hiding power. It can be used on unpainted galvanized metal, as well as masonry and wood surfaces.

This exterior primer paint is an excellent choice for siding, trim, fascia, fences, and gutters. It effectively seals staining types of wood, such as cedar and redwood, in just two coats. The primer can be top-coated with either latex or oil finishes.

Offering multi-purpose versatility, this latex exterior primer is suitable for new or weathered exterior wood surfaces. It also performs exceptionally well on masonry surfaces, like stucco or concrete block.

With its low VOC formula, the primer is water-thinned, blister and peel resistant, and highly opaque. It can be applied in low temperatures above 35°F (1.7°C), but should not be used within 8 hours of air temperatures at or below 35°F (1.7°C).

Top-coating options for this primer include latex or alkyd paints. The product offers a coverage rate of 300-400 square feet per gallon. It is important to avoid applying the primer to a hot surface or if rain is threatening. Additionally, the temperature should not be within 5 degrees of the dew point during application.
